A hostage deal was officially signed in the Qatari capital of Doha early this morning (Friday) between representatives of Israel and Hamas, following a number of last-minute obstacles which were overcome.

Here are the details of the first phase of the deal, according to media reports:

Hostage Release: In the first phase, 33 hostages will be released over 6 weeks: 30 terrorists in exchange for each civilian hostage, and 50 for each female soldier.

Release Schedule:

Day 1 (Jan 19): 3 released

Day 7 (Jan 25): 4 released

Day 14 (Feb 1): 3 released (priority to women)

Day 21 (Feb 8): 3 released

Day 28 (Feb 15): 3 released

Day 35 (Feb 22): 3 released

Between Day 35 and Day 42 (until Mar 1): Avera Mengistu, Hisham al-Sayed, and the remaining 12 hostages will be released.

In exchange, Israel will release approximately 1,000 terrorists, including about 200 "with blood on their hands" who will be released to Gaza, Qatar, or Turkey.

Humanitarian aid will be increased to 600 trucks per day into the Gaza Strip.

The IDF with withdraw from the Netzarim axis bisecting the Gaza Strip and from the Philadelphi crossing.

From Day 22 onward, Gaza residents can return to northern Gaza Egyptian-Qatari inspection force at the northern Gaza crossing to ensure no terrorists move north.

The security cabinet and government will meet tomorrow to approve the deal. With the threatened resignation of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, negotiations with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have now become more critical, as without his party, Prime Minister Netanyahu would have to rely on opposition votes to pass the deal.

The IDF is preparing for the return of the hostages under an operation called "Wings of Freedom," and Israel's hospitals and social services are preparing to receive the hostages and provide them with necessary medical and mental health care, as well as other forms of support.
