Despite the fact that Naftali Bennett has left the Prime Minister's Office more than two years ago, the burden of caring for and renovating his home in Ra'anana is still on the public dime, following his choice to live during his tenure in his home in Ra'anana and not in Jerusalem, according to Channel 14.
According to the report, in the past month, infrastructure work was carried out near the Bennett family's home, at a total cost of hundreds of thousands of shekels.
According to the contract document obtained by Channel 14, between the Prime Minister's Office and the executing contractor, the cost of replacing sidewalks and curbstones at the site, together with replacing the sewer covers, asphalt pavement, painting red and white markings, crosswalks, etc., cost the Israeli taxpayer more than 340,000 shekels.
The Prime Minister's Office said that the work was carried out at the request of the Ra'anana Municipality: "These are works to restore the situation to its previous state, due to the dismantling of the security facilities around the house."
The Ra'anana Municipality said in response: "The matter is under the responsibility and handling of the Prime Minister's Office. This is a correction of deficiencies that the Prime Minister's Office is carrying out in the public space, in the vicinity of the former prime minister's residence."
