The Security Cabinet is expected to convene tomorrow at 11:00 and approve the agreement with Hamas, after which the government will convene. Meanwhile, the President of the State is currently meeting with the President of the International Red Cross, Marianne Spoliaric, and her team as part of the preparations for the hostage deal.
During the meeting, the president emphasized the utmost importance and sensitivity of this mission. The Red Cross team updated the president on the preparations for the transfer of the hostages and the various challenges they face.
A short while ago, as mentioned, it was reported by Israeli and American sources that an agreement on the framework has been reached. According to various reports, the IDF will withdraw gradually, while at the same time a six-week ceasefire will take place and the displaced persons will return to the northern part of the strip. It was also agreed that about 600 aid trucks will enter the strip daily, 50 of which will carry fuels.
Hamas, for its part, will release 33 hostages, children, women, and men over the age of 50, with young women under the age of 19 being released first. Israel, for its part, will release all female prisoners and minors who were detained since October 7th. Al Jazeera reported that the ceasefire will take effect in two to three days.
A senior political figure announced earlier this evening (Wednesday) that the negotiating team updated that the terrorist organization Hamas decided at the last minute to impose new demands – this time regarding the Philadelphi route, contrary to the maps already approved by the cabinet and the American mediators. According to him, Israel vehemently opposes any change to these maps.
Shortly thereafter, a source involved in the details of the negotiations noted that following Prime Minister Netanyahu's insistence, Hamas backed down on the Philadelphi route. However, the outline has not yet been finalized and there are still several details that have not been settled. Meanwhile, the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, tweeted on platform X that a deal for the release of hostages has been reached and they will be released soon.
