After the meeting of the representatives of the hostages' families with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the representatives sent a message to the families explaining the current situation.
According to the report by Almog Boker, the letter stated, among other things: "Dear families. We have just come out of a meeting with the Prime Minister. We are in critical hours. Time is pressing, and we are closer to an agreement than ever. The Prime Minister explained to us that the negotiations are for a deal that includes everyone. But the agreements are only for the first stage, and we are very concerned about the second and third stages."
The representatives stated that "we demand continuity between the stages of the deal, that the second stage begins immediately after the first stage ends and continues seamlessly and immediately until the last hostage is released. So that no hostage, at any stage, in any situation, is left behind. We demand that the efforts to finalize the deal for all the hostages not only take place from the 16th day but already from now and as soon as possible, because every moment is critical."
"We reiterated that there is no such thing as a humanitarian pause. Everyone is humanitarian. The Prime Minister agreed with us and reiterated the commitment to bring all the hostages home, the living for rehabilitation and the deceased for burial. But we are not satisfied with words. The Prime Minister's commitment will be tested by actions. When we see all the hostages at home. The families are torn and in pain."
"The situation of the hostages in Gaza is even worse. They are waiting in anticipation to hear that they are on their way back home. All of Israel is waiting for the moment when the hostages finally return. That moment is just around the corner. From what I understand, it could happen within hours. Unfortunately, many questions we have asked have not yet been answered, in order not to jeopardize the chances of finalizing the deal."
"We will continue to fight together, shoulder to shoulder – until we receive all the answers and all the hostages return home, not in the end of days – but in the immediate timeframe. We thank the IDF soldiers, and send condolences to the bereaved families who paid the highest price. And we call on all decision-makers – do not bring politics into the return of the hostages. Do not mix political and coalition considerations. Let us set out on the path. Let the door open, so that hostages can start returning. Let us begin to save lives and return the fallen for burial. And we call on the Prime Minister – Trump has entered the White House. The opportunity for a deal to bring everyone back is now. Do not let the deal fall through and do not let any hostage be left behind."
