Sirens have been triggered in Samaria and the Valley areas following a ballistic missile launch from Yemen just now (Monday).
The IDF Spokesperson said that a number of warning sirens were activated in a number of areas in the center of the country following a launch from Yemen. Details are being examined.
The IDF said that the missile was shot down before entering Israeli territory.
Magen David Adom reports that following the sirens warning of a missile launch from Yemen in the Samaria and Valley areas, no reports have come in of either rocket impacts or casualties.
The Iran-backed Houthi forces controlling important parts of Yemen have vowed to continue their attacks on Israel and against shipping in the Red Sea until Israel ends the war in Gaza against Hamas and removes any and all restrictions on the area.
The Houthis began their blockade and attacks against Israel following October 7 and the beginning of the war, first focusing most of their weapons and attention on shipping in the Red Sea, which has since ground almost entirely to a halt, increasing shipping costs and causing revenue drops for Egypt's Suez Canal.
A US-led naval coalition in the Red Sea area has tried to protect shipping from Houthi missile and drone attacks and to degrade Houthi weapons capabilities with an increasing number of air strikes, but so far without deterring Houthi attacks entirely.
Israel has also launched four major strikes against strategic targets in Houthi-held Yemen, paralyzing the international airport and the major ports of Houdeidah and Ras Isa. Israel has also warned that it has not exhausted its attack capabilities against the Houthis and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked the Israeli public for "patience" in dealing with them, saying they will share the same fate as Hamas and Hezbollah.
