Following his meeting with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen today (Monday), Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar is set to travel to Italy and Hungary on a diplomatic visit.

Sa'ar with meet with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure and Transportation Minister Matteo Salvini, and Justice Minister Carlo Nordio. Sa'ar will also meet with senior members of the Italian Parliament, as well as members of the Italy-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Society.

In keeping with his policy of working closely with online celebrities and influencers to help Israel's public image, Sa'ar will also host an influencers' conference for Israel in Italy and will meet with the Jewish community.

Sa'ar will then visit Hungary, where he will meet with Hungarian Tamás Sulyok and Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, as well as with the local Jewish community in Budapest.

The planned meetings in both countries will deal both with developments in the region involving Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, the hostage deal, and more, while also promoting bilateral ties with what the Foreign Ministry calls "the two friendliest countries for Israel."

Sa'ar will also grant interviews for local media in both countries.

The Foreign Minister has called President-elect Donald Trump's second term an "opportunity" for Israel, noting in an interview that Trump and the Israeli government see "eye to eye" on the Iranian threat, and that steps he took in his first term such as recognizing Israel's control of the Golan Heights, moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel, and other steps hold out promise.

Sa'ar has also worked to ensure international condemnation of Houthi actions against Israel and international shipping, even ensuring the convening of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on the matter, calling on all the nations of the world to join in on the condemnation.
