The Iranian Army has taken receipt of some 1,000 "strategic, stealth, and anti-fortification" drones to add to its arsenal for both offense and defense, according to Iranian state media outlet IRNA.
According to IRNA, "the UAVs can fly at a range of over 2,000 kilometers. They enjoy high flight durations and destructive power, while they can evade defense layers thanks to their low-level Radar Cross Section," a clear threat to Israel, which is about 2,500 kilometers away from the Islamic Republic.
Iranian Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh highlighted the advanced technology of the drones, especially its artificial intelligence components.
In another implied threat, he said that "what is showcased in the exercises is only the shareable portion of our capabilities" and that "we also possess astonishing equipment, which will be utilized by our Armed Forces if necessary."
Iran had previously unveiled a new "loitering" or suicide drone, capable of hovering over an area until a target was found and hit based on a video feed, according to Iran International.
According to the IRGC, this "Rezvan" drone has a range 20 kilometers and an endurance of 20 minutes, and is reportedly useful for deployment in complex terrain and conditions.
Iran has been working hard to demonstrate its military might in the wake of several setbacks endured in its war against Israel and in other areas in the region.
Following Iran's missile and drone strikes against Israel, the IDF Air Force launched its own strikes against strategic Iranian targets, including its anti-aircraft missile systems, leaving it very vulnerable to a third strike.
The possibility of such a strike, especially against Iran's nuclear installations, has become increasingly pressing in the face of warnings - including from French President Emanuel Macron - that Iran is reaching the "point of no return" in its efforts to develop its nuclear capacity and ability to create nuclear weapons.
