PA and Fatah against October 7th?!

UNPRECEDENTED: Fatah and Palestinian Authority CONDEMN Hamas and October 7 attacks

In an extraordinary move, Fatah, the Palestinian National Liberation Movement, has issued a strong condemnation of Hamas, criticizing the militant group for its actions surrounding the October 7, 2023, attacks. The statement, which marks a rare break from Fatah’s usual stance, condemned Hamas for what it described as disastrous actions that have severely harmed the Palestinian people and Gaza’s infrastructure.

Fatah accused Hamas of aligning itself with Iran and other regional forces, gambling with Palestinian interests and exacerbating the devastation in Gaza. According to the statement, Hamas's actions led to the largest destruction Gaza has faced in recent history, with widespread casualties and a collapse in essential services like healthcare and education. The use of civilians as human shields was specifically called out for contributing to the catastrophic losses.

The statement also highlighted Fatah's rejection of Hamas’s attempts to expand its influence into Judea and Samaria, accusing the group of inciting chaos and supporting criminal elements. Fatah denounced the alleged executions, kidnappings, and diversion of humanitarian aid that have been attributed to Hamas.

Fatah reaffirmed its commitment to the Palestinian national project and emphasized the sacrifices made by Palestinian security forces in their efforts to protect the country’s independence from external manipulation, particularly from Iranian influence. The statement concluded by vowing to safeguard Palestinian sovereignty from any party attempting to exploit it.

This unprecedented and sharp denunciation of Hamas by Fatah signals a significant shift in Palestinian politics, underscoring the deep divisions that have emerged within Palestinian leadership in recent years.
