The Arab media and public relations figure, Yoseph Haddad, has become a familiar face in every home in Israel since October 7th. He sits in studios, confronts Arabs, and cries out the cry of the State of Israel on almost every possible platform. However, Haddad claims that he does not intend to enter national politics, but there is still a role he would like to take on.
In an interview with the 'Israel Hayom' website, Haddad revealed: "I received offers from across the political spectrum. It's crazy, it means that parties from all sides see something in my message and values. But moving into politics? No. I'm not just saying this, because if I come and say 'well, I'm with this party', the interest in me being someone who unofficially represents my country automatically goes away. All of that is gone. And it's not like I have a well-formed thought today about a party that really represents me."
Despite his words, Haddad clarifies that there is a role he would be interested in serving: "I am not aiming to be Israel's ambassador to the UN, but if I think about it, then yes, it is a role I would very much like to do. Together with good people, I have done many beautiful things at the explanatory-consciousness level, but if there is any desire in me to represent the country officially, it is at the UN – the most hypocritical organization there is."
Haddad explains: "This is an effort at the highest levels, in terms of intellectual confrontations, with facts and with a different style than in universities. Arabic is an official language at the UN, you are allowed to give a full speech in Arabic. It is my dream to stand there, represent our country, and speak in Arabic."
