Security forces arrested two armed terrorists in the city of Nablus who were on their way to carry out an attack in the immediate term, according to a statement released on Sunday.
The terrorists, who were arrested in a joint operation by the Shin Bet, the Israel Police and the IDF, are Ahmad Zakarneh, 21, and Tareq Abu Zeid, 25, residents of Qabatiyah, who are affiliated with Islamic Jihad.
The two terrorists were stopped by the soldiers in their car, with two loaded M16 weapons ready for immediate use, vests, face masks and a lot of ammunition.
Their initial interrogation by the Shin Bet revealed that they had left Jenin and were on their way to carry out a shooting attack. Their interrogation by the Shin Bet continues. "The security forces will continue to act to thwart terrorism and protect the residents of the State of Israel," the statement said.
