Defense Minister Katz visited Judea and Samaria today (Sunday), where he said that "we will not allow Judea and Samaria to become Gaza or southern Lebanon - those who activate terrorism like in Gaza will be dealt with like in Gaza."
Katz also said that "we will work to cut off the tentacles of the Iranian octopus in the refugee camps in Judea and Samaria and to maintain the security of the settlements and the residents."
The Defense Minister met with the Central Command Commander, the Border Guard Commander, Commander of the Judea and Samaria area division, commander of Border Guard, Judea and Samaria, and other senior officers.
The Defense Minister received a survey regarding the IDF's extensive operation in Qabatiya, as well as the operations of the Border Guard in the Judea and Samaria refugee camps, including the most recent operations eliminating terrorist squads, aimed at ensuring the security of Israeli citizens.
During the visit, Katz watched a demonstration of the capabilities of the fighting and undercover security forces operating in the area. He then thanked the soldiers and commanders for their work in keeping Israeli citizens safe.
Judea and Samaria has seen an increase in terrorist attacks and attacks against PA officers in the past few weeks, including a deadly attack on a bus killing three Israelis.
Fatah recently released a statement condemning Hamas for trying to make Judea and Samaria into the same kind of battleground Gaza has become, with flattened cities and villages following months of intense urban conflict between the IDF and the terrorist organization.
Minister and cabinet member Zeev Elkin recently said during an interview for Israeli radio that Hamas cannot be allowed to continue to be a governing power in Gaza, lest it also seize the densely populated cities in Judea and Samaria such as Jenin and Nablus.
