This intensive training took place at the Golani Brigade’s training base and focused on scenarios that could arise as the ongoing conflict progresses. The drill was deemed highly beneficial for both the soldiers and the Israel Dog Unit volunteers, as they worked together to refine their tactics and skills.
In addition to the volunteers from the Israel Dog Unit, the exercise involved civilian security coordinators from local towns including Mishmar Ha'Emek, Ein Hashofet, and Gilad, as well as a Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk from the Israeli Air Force, according to the Israel national news report.
Golani Battalion Commander Niv Mendil spoke on the significance of the exercise, stating: "Over the past few days, we've simulated an incursion into enemy territory and the evacuation of casualties. Our role at the Golani Brigade training base is to train recruits, transforming them into principled and valiant fighters who will lead the brigade in future operations. We are deeply grateful for the assistance of the Israel Dog Unit in helping us train the next generation of soldiers."
Israel Dog Unit Director Yekutiel Ben-Yaakov also expressed his appreciation for the collaboration: "It’s an honor for us to participate in this exercise and to support the Golani Brigade in training their soldiers. This cooperation has not only enhanced our own capabilities but has also contributed to the soldiers' skills on the ground. We’ve witnessed firsthand how motivated the soldiers are in protecting the citizens of Israel during this challenging period. We thank the IDF and wish the new officers much success."
This successful joint exercise underscored the importance of collaboration and training between military units and volunteer organizations in strengthening Israel's defense capabilities.
