Since the beginning of the Swords of Iron war, the Israeli military has been actively defending the nation from multiple threats on various fronts. In recent months, the Houthi regime, a key proxy of Iran in the Middle East, has launched numerous aerial attacks against Israel, including both surface-to-surface missiles and UAVs. This regime is known for its destabilizing activities in the region and its disruptions to global shipping routes.
The IDF reported that, since the start of the conflict, approximately 40 surface-to-surface missiles were launched from Yemen toward Israel. Most of these missiles were successfully intercepted by the IDF’s Aerial Defense Array. However, one missile fell to the ground, and two other partial interceptions caused debris to land in nearby areas. The remaining launches either failed to reach Israeli territory or were neutralized mid-flight.
In addition, the Houthis launched around 320 UAVs toward Israel, with over 100 of these intercepted by the Israeli Air Force. To date, two UAVs successfully hit targets, though the majority either fell in open areas, failed to reach Israeli territory, or caused minimal damage.
The Israeli Air Force continues to monitor and neutralize aerial threats, ensuring the safety of Israel’s residents amidst ongoing regional instability.
