Blessed be the True Judge: Elisheva Winkelstein, the grandmother of Elad Winkelstein who was murdered in the shooting attack in Funduk last Monday, passed away today (Thursday). As a result, the father, Yosef, is now sitting shiva for both his son and his mother.
As a reminder, Elad Winkelstein from Kibbutz Ein Hanatziv was murdered two days ago in the shooting attack in Funduk, alongside Rachel Cohen and Aliza Reiz from Kedumim. Winkelstein previously served as the security officer in Kedumim and was an investigator at the Ariel station. His son was by his side during the horrific terror attack and used his murdered father's phone to deliver the devastating news to his stepmother. Winkelstein is survived by his wife and two children. The family had recently moved to Kibbutz Ein HaNatziv, where they both served as youth counselors.
The attack occurred when terrorists opened fire from a passing vehicle at a bus and car on Route 55 in Al-Fundaq village, between Karnei Shomron and Kedumim. 8 people were injured lightly and moderately in the attack, including the bus driver, 63, in serious condition. Another woman in her 60s is in moderate condition, and 6 other injured individuals are in light condition.
