Ahmad Abdul Hadi, speaking to Al Mayadeen television network late Monday, said negotiators have made significant progress on previously contentious issues. "For the first time, our delegation has observed serious engagement from both mediators and Israeli representatives toward reaching a comprehensive agreement," Hadi said.
The proposed deal would reportedly unfold in three distinct phases over several weeks, with the initial stage lasting approximately 42 days. According to Hadi, the framework includes:
- Phase One: Exchange of civilian hostages for Palestinian prisoners
- Phase Two: Release of military personnel
- Phase Three: Return of remains, coupled with a permanent ceasefire
"We've shown considerable flexibility to overcome recent obstacles," Hadi stated, referencing what he described as last-minute conditions introduced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, he emphasized that Hamas maintains its core demands, including "a permanent end to hostilities, complete withdrawal of forces from Gaza, and the return of displaced residents."
The official's comments come amid intensified diplomatic efforts to secure a deal, though Israeli officials have not yet publicly confirmed these claims. Regional mediators, including Qatar and Egypt, continue to facilitate negotiations between the parties.
