Kfar Chabad Yeshiva  expels students who supported Chabad army recruit

This is a painful although perfect example that heavy-handed responses to changing social dynamics within the Haredi community may accelerate the very changes they aim to prevent.

Students of Kfar Chabad, who were expelled for supporting their friend

Following yesterday's successful first recruitment day for the Hasmonean Brigade, several Chabad students were expelled from their Kfar Chabad yeshiva after accompanying their friend Moshe Weiner to his IDF enlistment. The students were asked to leave after photos of them at the recruitment center circulated online.

"The yeshiva fears this recruitment will influence other students, which I understand. But expelling an excellent student over this?" one father told 'Lechatchila'. "Last night my son discussed possibly enlisting himself - something we'd never considered before. What did the yeshiva leadership think would happen after this? My son doesn't want to return, and I understand why."
