The beloved children's educator Ms Rachel (Rachel Griffin Accurso) with a huge 9.8 million YouTube subscribers, found herself at the center of controversy after her initial fundraising campaign announcement appeared to emphasize Gaza's children while omitting mention of Israeli victims of October 7th.
You would think she would have learned her lesson, after what happened to het in 2024: She announced her fundraising campaign on May 12 through TikTok and Instagram. The initial announcement mentioned Gaza along with Sudan, Ukraine, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo as beneficiaries through Save the Children's emergency fund.
The omission of any reference to Israeli children affected by Hamas's October 7th attack prompted immediate criticism from followers. "You should be for all children not just the children in gaza. Do you not care what hamas did to all the innocent jewish children october 7th???" one Instagram comment read.
Another TikTok user pointedly asked, "You mention the children of Gaza in your video … how about the children held hostage? Do you care about all children?"
Only after facing significant backlash did Accurso post a tearful video on May 16, expanding her message to explicitly include "Palestinian children, Israeli children, children in the US – Muslim, Jewish, Christian children – all children, in every country."
The backlash ultimately led Accurso to turn off comments on Instagram and post an emotional video showing her in dim lighting, dramatically different from her usual cheerful, colorful content - demonstrating how even seemingly innocuous fundraising efforts.
Yet just a few short months later, she is back at it, bemoaning the fate of the same poor children in Gaza, inventing facts and just being an all-round Jew-hater and antisemite.
And honestly after the last 16 months, no one is surprised to find that there are hundreds of thousands of people like that, but when it comes from your kiddo's favorite Youtube influencer, it's harder to swallow.
The imitable, crazy and hilarious L.E.Staiman did a satire skit, which shows you just how deranged Miss Rachel really is.
And to all you Jewish parents out there (or anyone who cares about what your kid is actually watching) Blippi is a fab alternative.
