Earlier today (Monday), Hamas fired three rockets at Israel from Beit Hanoun, where the IDF is currently operating. One rocket was intercepted, one fell in an open area, and one fell in the city of Sderot, a hundred meters near a daycare center.
Israel Hayom reports that residents of the city are furious at this incident, saying that both the rocket attacks and the successful hits are "bringing us back to a state of war" after months of relative calm following the IDF's operations in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF has been working intensively in the northern Gaza Strip, with a focus on Gaza City and the towns of Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun, with the aim of destroying the remnants of Hamas' Gaza Brigade and the terrorist infrastructure located there.
Beit Hanoun is currently entirely encircled by the IDF and parts of already destroyed, but more remains, and Hamas is still capable of firing small amounts of rockets at Israeli citizens.
