Exiled Iranian opposition activist Bahar Kandahari arrived in Damascus today (Sunday) and spray-painted the slogan of Iranian protestors "Woman, Life, Freedom" and "Free Iran" and on the fence of the Iranian embassy, which is empty for the time being.
Bahar Ghandehari is a junior policy fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Strategic Litigation Project and a dedicated advocate for Iranian human rights. With expertise spanning international law, human rights, and Middle East policy, her work bridges legal advocacy and grassroots activism.
A graduate of Georgetown University, where she studied government and journalism, Ghandehari founded Middle East Matters, a youth-led organization dedicated to media journalism and digital human rights campaigns. Her efforts amplify the voices of marginalized communities and highlight the urgent need for justice in the region.
In addition, Ghandehari serves as the advocacy officer at the Syrian Emergency Task Force, spearheading policy initiatives, advocacy campaigns, and accountability measures to address human rights violations and atrocities in Syria.
