A missile launched from Yemen towards Israel last night (between Saturday and Sunday) was successfully intercepted by air defense systems.
An alarm was activated in the settlement of Talmei Elazar near Hadera at 00:20 a.m., but no casualties or damage were reported. Residents of the central region and the Shephelah reported hearing explosions as a result of the interception.
The IDF Spokesperson said that "a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted before it crossed into Israeli territory. Alerts were activated in accordance with the policy." Among the rescue forces, there were many reports of hearing explosions, but no significant incidents of injury or damage. In parallel with the interception of the missile, there were reports in Yemen tonight of an American attack in the Saada province in the north of the country.
US forces carried out at least four airstrikes, intended to hit Houthi targets in the area. The American attacks come against the backdrop of growing tension in the region and the continued rocket fire from Yemen toward Israel.
Yesterday, on the night between Thursday and Friday, sirens were sounded in Gush Dan, Jerusalem and other areas throughout the country. A missile launched from Yemen was intercepted, and the fragments of the interception fell in a number of locations, including Jerusalem, Mateh Yehuda and Modi'in. That morning, a UAV was also launched from Yemen, which was also intercepted outside Israeli territory.
