Israel's latest demand for hostage deal
Change of plans: These are the hostages Israel wants released first
Hamas has stated that, due to the ongoing war, it is unable to provide a full list of living hostages but is open to discussing the inclusion of soldiers in the first stage of negotiations. A senior Palestinian official revealed that the talks surrounding a ceasefire and hostage deal are facing significant hurdles, primarily due to new demands presented by Israel.

Report reveals Israel Insisting on Captured Soldiers in First Stage of Hostage Deal
In a discussion with Shehab, the official explained that while both parties had reached a "half agreement," Israel’s recent conditions have complicated the process. The official outlined two new Israeli demands: the inclusion of 11 soldiers who were not previously covered under the terms, and an unwavering request for a list of all living hostages.
Hamas, according to the official, is willing to discuss the first demand but under specific terms, which would come at a "special price." Regarding the second demand, Hamas contends that the war prevents it from providing a list of living hostages.
The official also noted that progress in the negotiations has been slow due to the introduction of these new conditions by Israel. Despite these challenges, there is hope that the upcoming talks in Qatar over the weekend could result in significant breakthroughs, though Hamas remains wary of Israel potentially altering its positions at the last minute.
