The IDF has revealed additional footage and maps today (Thursday) showing the extent and daring of the Shaldag operation against a missile production site in the Masyaf area of Hama, deep inside Syria.
Among this footage is first person bodycam footage from the Shaldag forces themselves (Source: IDF Spokesperson):
According to the IDF, the site was monitored for many years to gather intelligence to demonstrate its importance as a military target. Then, in the months leading up to the operation, a plan was formed to destroy it with air forces.
When put into action, Shaldag soldiers were landed at the site, with air forces isolating it and destroying security installations meant to protect it with fire from the air.
The IDF said that the site was an Iranian "flagship" meant to arm its proxies along Israel's northern border. It included advanced assembly lines meant to produce precise missiles and long-range rockets and thus expand the arsenal belonging to Hezbollah and other Iranian proxies in the area.
