Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar visited the Syrian border today (Thursday), where he met with IDF senior officers and UNDOF personnel to form a situational assessment of conditions on the ground in Syria.
While there, Sa'ar issued a video statement where he said that "it's good to see things from the ground. I saw the activity of IDF soldiers here today, very important activity on the Syrian border - first and foremost to prevent the formation of a threat to the settlements on the Golan Heights but also in order to prevent the establishment of hostile parties next to our border, in a reality which is very dynamic and we don't know how it will stabilize and when it will stabilize."
He also said that "I visited the UNDOF headquarters. I heard praise there for the cooperation with the State of Israel in general and with the IDF in particular. And I also learned about their modus operandi since the separation of forces agreement from 1974 until today."
