Earlier today (Thursday), the IDF struck a terrorist command and control center operating out of the Khan Yunis municipality compound in the humanitarian zone in the central Gaza Strip.
The command and control center established there was used by Hamas terrorists to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against the IDF and the State of Israel.
The IDF took a number of steps to minimize harm to civilians, including the use of precise weaponry, overflights, and additional intelligence information.
Thus far, the IDF has focused its main operations in the north and south of the Gaza Strip and avoided operating in the central Gaza Strip for fear of getting to close to where hostages are being held and leading Hamas terrorists guarding them to murder them before the IDF can reach them.
However, Defense Minister Katz has warned that if Hamas does not agree to a deal to free the hostages, the IDF will hit them at levels they have not experienced in a "long time."
