The first Israeli baby girl of 2025 was born at 2:28 this morning (Wednesday) to Orel Miari Ohana, who came special from Givat Zeev in Jerusalem to give birth in the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariyah, in the north of the country.
Ohana has specifically insisted on delivering all three of her children in Nahariyah despite living in the Jerusalem area, saying that "as a former Nahariyah resident, I remembered that there is a wonderful and dedicated staff here, which I am not willing to give up under any condition."
At 2:28 AM Orel gave birth to a baby girl. She was born normally and weighs 3.24 kilograms. Orel said that "I recently celebrated my 30th birthday, and this is the best present I could have received."
Ohana said that she was very excited to give birth with the opening of the new year: "I feel a mix of emotions. On the one hand, it's a wonderful feeling and the sense of a new start, but on the other hand, I so want the hostages to come home and for the war to reach its end."
