The IDF said that it is committed to the understandings of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon but that it remains committed to doing everything possible to remove any and all threats to the IDF and Israel emanating from southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese government and Hezbollah have both been insisting that the IDF withdraw according to the 60 day timeline agreed upon by the ceasefire, even though Israeli defense officials consider the effective deployment of the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon to be the real key to lasting quiet in the area.
