Houthis continue to bombard Israel

UPDATE: Huge piece of rocket falls in Beit Shemesh

Sirens went off in multiple cities across central Israel on Monday evening following the launch of a missile from Yemen towards Israel. According to the IDF, the missile was successfully intercepted by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) before it could enter Israeli airspace. However updated reports indicate a large piece of shrapnel from the intercepted missile fell in Ramat Alef area of Beit Shemesh outside of Jerusalem.

A suspected shrapnel fall in Beit Shemesh has been reported following the sirens heard in extensive areas of Israel a short while ago.

Reports indicate that a large piece of rocket debris fell in the city of Beit Shemesh. A bomb disposal expert is on the way to the scene. We ask residents to avoid approaching the area until further notice. Mayor Shmuel Greenberg and city teams are on site.

The Beit Beit Shemesh Municipality Spokesperson issued this important reminder: After hearing a siren, stay in the protected area for 10 minutes before leaving. Home Front Command instructions save lives. We will continue to update as necessary.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit confirmed, "Following the sirens heard earlier in Central Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by the IAF before it reached Israeli territory."

The sirens were triggered due to concerns about potential shrapnel from the interception.

Magen David Adom reported no injuries, though there were instances of anxiety and some people sustaining injuries while rushing to shelters.

Tel Aviv District police are conducting operational searches in the area to locate any possible impact zones and assist the public.

This missile attack from Yemen occurred shortly after airstrikes by the US and UK in the region.
