IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi is reportedly set to approve additional operations and the transfer of forces to the Gaza Strip in the coming days, as part of an effort to force Hamas into a hostage deal, according to an N12 report today (Monday).
Between the internal perimeter, the Netzarim and Philadelphi corridors in the middle and south of the Gaza Strip, and other locations, the IDF now controls about 30% of the Gaza Strip, denying Hamas the ability to effectively govern the whole area and causing them deep concern, according to intelligence.
The IDF therefore seeks to deepen and expand its operations to demonstrate Hamas lack of control, and will add operations in addition to its actions in Gaza City, Beit Hanoun, and elsewhere to further put the squeeze on Hamas.
