Ofer Calderon was taken from his home in Nir Oz during the October 7 attack. Yarden Bibas was kidnapped separately from his wife Shiri and their children Ariel and Kfir, who were also taken captive. Hamas previously released footage showing Bibas alive and calling for his family's release, and an earlier video showed Bibas during his capture, his face bloodied as militants abused him.
In a heartbreaking Channel 12 interview, Adina Moshe - who spent 49 harrowing days in Hamas captivity before being released in November - shared new details about the condition of hostages still held in Gaza. Her testimony comes in the wake of a comprehensive Health Ministry report documenting widespread abuse of Israeli hostages.
"I could hear Ofer Calderon and Yarden Bibas being tortured in the detention facilities," Moshe revealed. Moshe, who was kidnapped from her home in Nir Oz, continues to struggle with serious health issues herself, including heart problems and unstable blood pressure.
When asked about the report's findings of systematic abuse, Moshe said she was "horrified beyond words" to learn that children were among those attacked. While she personally witnessed the abuse of Calderon and Bibas, she was unaware of the full scope of atrocities detailed in the report.
The Health Ministry report, prepared for submission to the UN, provides extensive documentation of systematic abuse suffered by Israeli hostages in Gaza.
