Israel's defense establishment is actively monitoring a series of Iranian military exercises, as regional tensions continue to escalate. Officials are tracking the drills to detect any potential threats, state broadcaster Kan News reported Sunday.
The surveillance efforts coincide with Israel's preparations to expand operations against Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen. The Houthis launched their latest missile toward Israel Saturday night, triggering air raid sirens near Jerusalem. Military sources confirmed the "Palestine 2" missile was intercepted before reaching its alleged target, the Nevatim Air Base.
Speaking on Kan Reshet Bet radio, former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman advocated for preemptive action against Iran, arguing Israel has the capability to neutralize Iran's nuclear program independently. "Without Iran, there's no Yemen," Lieberman said, urging a decisive response to the regional threat.
