Defense sources speaking to Kann reporter Itay Blumenthal this evening (Thursday) said that they do not consider the 60 day deadline for withdrawing from southern Lebanon as "sacred."
Instead, they say, the IDF will withdraw in an organized, gradual manner when they see that the Lebanese Army has indeed deployed all throughout southern Lebanon as required by the ceasefire agreement and UN Resolution 1701.
The sources also said that they are keeping a close eye on Hezbollah, which is reportedly withdrawing its forces from Syria following the fall of the Assad regime and which the IDF wants to see stay north of the Litani River - another key condition of the ceasefire agreement.
Ever since the ceasefire began, the IDF has been energetically enforcing violations of the agreement, launching air strikes against Hezbollah attempts to introduce weapons or armed terrorists south of the Litani multiple times.
