Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar held another meeting with representatives of dozens of pro-Israel groups today (Thursday) to discuss the importance of defending Israel around the world in the coming year.
Among the groups represented were the Civilian Hasbarah Headquarters, ELNET Europe-Israel, AJC, StandWithUs, Nefesh Benefesh, NGO Monitor, the World Zionist Organization, and more.
During their conversation, the Foreign Minister addressed the matter of Syrian minorities, especially the Kurds:
"There are explicit threats by Erdogan to eliminate the Kurdish autonomy. It is the responsibility of the international community to protect the minorities in Syria. Now there are battles with the Alawites, harassment of Christians, and threats to eliminate the Kurdish autonomy."
Sa'ar has made it a priority to work more closely together with volunteer and NGO hasbarah organizations rather than keep his ministry's efforts "in house," as many of his predecessors have.
