Families of hostages prayed last night (Wednesday) at Joseph's Tomb in Nablus. The families lit the first candle lighting of Hanukkah at the grave together with the head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, and the commander of the Samaria Brigade, Col. Ariel Gonen, after which they held a moving prayer for the release and return of their loved ones from captivity soon.
Participating in the ceremony were the family of Avinatan Or, his mother Ditza and his sister Emuna, Elia Cohen's two cousins, Julie, Bar Kuperstein's mother, Uriel Baruch's family - his brother Roy and his sister-in-law Ricky, Karina Aryev's parents - Ira and Albert, Yigal father of Almog Seroussi, Roni the sister of Tamir Adar, Yosef Haim Ohana's father - Avi, Sagi Dekel Chen's brother - Itai, Meirav Gonen is the mother of Romi Gonen and her partner Assaf, the adoptive father of Idan Alexander - Doron Zetzler and others.
The families prayed for the release of the hostages and for the IDF soldiers, along with the residents of Samaria and the hundreds of other worshippers who visited the memorial of Yosef HaTsadik last night. An emotional moment was recorded when everyone sang together "Our brothers, all the house of Israel."
The head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, read a prayer for the abductees and IDF soldiers, and the entire audience said Amen. Afterwards, he said: "We came here to Nablus, to the tomb of Joseph the Righteous, together with the beloved families of the hostages who are languishing in Gaza, we came here together to pray together with the entire people of Israel for their speedy return safe and sound."
