"Remove anything 'Jewish' from your shop"
"Don't say you are Jewish": Etsy's shock demand to Israeli designer
E-commerce giant scrambles to explain why seller was told to hide her Jewish identity as story goes viral.

An Israeli designer was told to scrub any mention of "Jewish" or "Israeli" from her Etsy shop listings, sparking backlash before the platform blamed the incident on a system error.
Sara Attali, who sells headscarves to a global clientele, received the directive after questioning why two of her items had been mysteriously removed from the platform.
"It felt completely out of character," Attali told Israeli broadcaster KAN. "I've been selling on Etsy for years without any issues." She noted the irony that her "best customer is Muslim."
After media inquiries, Etsy quickly backtracked. "The service representative's guidance violated our policies," the company said in a statement. "The products were mistakenly flagged by our security systems." The platform said it has reached out to Attali directly.
The incident comes amid growing concern about online discrimination against Israeli and Jewish sellers on various platforms since October 7.
