Four Israeli suspects detained after crossing into Lebanon, legal consequences loom

Four Israelis were detained for questioning after crossing the border in the north and entering Lebanese territory illegally. The police stated that the continuation of the legal process regarding them will be decided based on the investigation's findings.

Exceptional event: The police announced that four Israelis were detained for questioning after crossing

Today (Thursday), they crossed the border in the northern area and entered Lebanese territory illegally.

"Shortly ago, a complaint was received by the Israel Police from IDF officials regarding four suspects who were caught inside the territory of the State of Lebanon after crossing the border in the northern area," it was reported. "Northern district police officers arrived at the scene, and after coordinating with military officials, transferred the four (residents of Ashdod, Beit Shemesh, and Hatzor HaGlilit) for questioning at the police station in Kiryat Shmona. The suspects are currently being interrogated, and based on the investigation's findings, a decision will be made regarding the continuation of the legal process in their case."

The police reminded the public that approaching the areas adjacent to the border fence is prohibited and dangerous, let alone crossing the border into Lebanon, which is illegal according to law. The penalty for violating this law is imprisonment for up to 4 years.
