The IDF said today (Thursday) that it intercepted a "suspicious aerial object" over the Mediterranean Sea before it entered Israeli territory.
Both Hezbollah and the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have deployed drones to attack Israel via the Mediterranean, so that they can quickly strike Israeli targets along the coast before the IDF can respond.
One such attack was launched against the Prime Minister's private residence in Caesaria, and another struck in Tel Aviv.
Since Hezbollah is formally committed to a ceasefire at present, it is very likely that the Houthis, who have already launched two ballistic missiles at Israel, were the ones who operated the intercepted drone.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said that his forces do not intend to stop attacking Israel until the IDF withdraws entirely from the Gaza Strip and removes the "siege" of the area.
