Until now, the IDF has concealed the depth of the maneuver in the buffer zones and has only published details about the capture of the Syrian Golan Heights and the buffer zone. Now it seems that the advance is deeper in order to provide a sufficient security area in case of a future attack threat from the Syrian rebels.

This is the deepest maneuver of the IDF in the southern Syria region. During the Yom Kippur War, the IDF captured an enclave in the northern part of the Golan Heights and, of course, the Syrian Hermon, which the Prime Minister visited today along with the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, and the Minister of Defense.
