Palestinian sources "familiar with the matter" spoke with the Palestinian paper al-Quds about the emerging hostage deal today (Wednesday), saying that the deal is heading into the final stretch, and that the main debate revolves around the identity of prisoners to be released, according to Kann reporter Roi Kais.
According to the report, the plan is for the hardened terrorists with long sentences to be exiled to Turkey or Iran, with the remainder being sent to Judea and Samaria or to the Gaza Strip.
Other reports point to disagreements between Hamas and Israel regarding security checks for Gazans moving back north - Hamas is against and Israel insists - as well as a demand by Hamas that Israel give written guarantees that it will not automatically restart the war once the temporary ceasefire ends.
In the meantime, Egypt is working to establish a committee to run post-war Gaza, and has invited PA Chairman Abu Mazen to take part in negotiating the distribution of authorities within the Strip.
