The IDF is acknowledging for the first time that Israeli civilians managed to cross the border into Lebanon and set up tents there. This comes after they had claimed that activists from the "Awaken the North" movement had not erected tents on Lebanese territory. Now, following an investigation of the incident, it has emerged that the civilians did cross the Blue Line by several meters, set up tents, planted seedlings, and hung signs reading "Lebanon is Ours" along with memorial signs for fallen soldiers.

After being identified by IDF forces, they were removed from the area, as reported by Doron Kadosh.

An IDF spokesperson responded: "This is a serious incident that is under investigation. Any attempt to approach or cross the border into Lebanese territory without coordination presents a life-threatening risk and compromises the IDF's ability to operate in the area and fulfill its mission."

A military source added: "In recent weeks, several actions have been taken to block passage points in the fence, and we have clarified the protocols for approaching the border area with the soldiers operating in the area."
