Minister Meir Porush: We've set up a hotline for those "endangered" by the draft

The Minister and UTJ leader opposed those who said Justice Minister Yariv Levin caused the problems with the draft with his legal reform, saying that the reform was necessary to secure a Draft Law.

At a conference of representatives of the Haredi Shlomei Emunim movement at the home of its chairman, Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition Minister Meir Porush, the UTJ party leader discussed the many challenges the Haredim community faces.

After discussing a variety of communal issues, Porush addressed the draft challenge, saying that he would not address any Draft Law proposal until there is one to be presented before the Gedolim who lead the community to discuss.

He also noted that "we have established an aid hotline" at Agudat Israel headquarters in Jerusalem to help young men who are draft eligible and who fear its reported dangers.

Porush then said that "since the establishment of the state, there was never such a difficult situation and the Jewish People never dealt with such a great danger to the future of the Torah world. Just as we knew to act and see to the God-fearing public in all eras and with all the evil decrees, we must now also gird ourselves and give this public backing during such great troubles."
