Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesperson Omer Dostri said a short time ago today (Tuesday) that "contrary to rumors," the Prime Minister is not in Cairo.
Dostri also said that there is nothing new to report regarding the fate of Eli Cohen, the Israeli spy who was caught, executed, and buried in an unknown location in Syria.
Reuters reported earlier that the Prime Minister was heading to the Egyptian capital in addition to PA Chairman Abu Mazen and Turkish President Recep Erdogan, with the hope of securing not only a hostage deal within the next few days but also an agreed arrangement for the post-war governance of the Gaza Strip.
According to reports, Abu Mazen is indeed headed to Cairo to discuss the PA's role in a planned joint committee for governing the Gaza Strip once the war ends. The idea is that the Palestinian Authority will manage the Rafah border crossing with Egypt and probably take on other duties, as well.
