Iran's nuclear chief remained defiant in the face of European opposition to the expanding nuclear program and the possibility of increased sanctions under President-elect Trump.

Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, said today (Tuesday) that "We must continue on the path of progress with effort and perseverance, and Iran's nuclear technology will never be restricted" while at the city of Esfahan, site of the Natanz nuclear facility, according to Iran International.

This defiant statement comes in the face of increasing pressure from the UK, France, and Germany regarding the conditions of enrichment and preparation of fissile material usable for nuclear weapons.

While President Donald Trump left the Iranian nuclear deal or JCPOA in 2018, Iran truly began to expand and improve its stockpile of enriched uranium after Joe Biden entered office, and they are now believed to have enough material to make around 4 nuclear bombs, should they so choose.

According to Iran International, Iran has lost hundreds of billions in potential revenue due to sanctions imposed on the country for its nuclear program and terrorist sponsorships, and it suffers from 50% inflation and a currency that is in freefall.

What is worse for Iran, President-elect Donald Trump is expected to revive his "maximum pressure" policy on Iran financially to force them away from breaking out to producing nuclear weapons.
