Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention...
IDF establishes five new reserve brigades - these are their names
In the aftermath of October 7th and the increasing demands on army manpower, the IDF is now establishing five new reserve brigades and is calling for volunteers.

The IDF announced today (Tuesday) that following staff work examining the IDF's existing needs and force buildup, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has ordered the formation of five "David" reserve brigades, whose aim is to secure the borders in accordance with operational need.
The brigades - Negba covering the Negev, Yehonathan covering the Shfela, Yizraeli covering the valleys, Ari covering the Jerusalem area, and Galil Golan - are being formed to provide an effective response to immediate incidents occurring in their assigned areas.
The reserve brigades will recruit soldiers based on their area of residence and will be based on men aged 38-58 whose experience and knowledge is expected to help the IDF bolster the defense of the country.
Halevi said that this decision was bolstered by the lessons learned from the war: "In this war, we learned that the IDF needs to be larger, broader, in the face of difficult situations and long wars."
