Amid the negotiations for a deal: the IDF attacked a command and control compound of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
The IDF announced a short while ago that Air Force aircraft targeted earlier today (Sunday), in a focused manner and with the intelligence guidance of the IDF Intelligence Directorate, the Shin Bet, and the Southern Command, a concentration of terrorists from the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations operating in a command and control facility disguised as the offices of the "Civil Defense" organization in Nusseirat.
The compound was used by the terrorists to plan and execute a terror scheme against IDF forces in the immediate timeframe. In the attack, several terrorists from the terror organizations were eliminated, including the PFLP terrorist Ahmad Bakr Mahmoud Luach, who previously served as a platoon commander in the Central Camps Brigade of the PFLP terror organization.
The IDF notes that before the attack, many measures were taken to reduce the likelihood of harming civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial contracts, and additional intelligence information.
Terror organizations systematically violate international law, ruthlessly exploiting civilian institutions and the population as human shields for terrorist activities. The IDF will continue to act with strength and determination against the terror organizations that use civilian institutions as cover.
