The security situation in Judea and Samaria is deteriorating: another shooting attack occurred this evening (Sunday) towards a vehicle near the Barkan industrial area. There were no casualties in the incident.
The shooting was directed at a Givati soldier who was driving a vehicle and was on his way to a farm in the western Samaria. At least 4 hits were identified. Security forces have launched a pursuit of the terrorist. The soldiers are scanning, setting up roadblocks, and surrounding villages in the area.
The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, responded this evening to the shooting attack: "This evening's event ended by a miracle; we could have ended the evening in a completely different way. The quantities of weapons and combat equipment in the hands of the terrorists of the 'Palestinian Authority' and Hamas are unimaginable, and their audacity is only increasing."
"We demand that the government define Judea and Samaria as a primary arena that must be addressed immediately. Eyes and forces must be directed now to Judea and Samaria before it is too late," Dagan added.
Simultaneously with the attack, stone-throwing incidents were reported between the Tapuach Junction and Ariel, near the village of Marda. Around 18:30, Arab assailants threw stones at a bus north of the T-junction in Gush Etzion, causing damage to the windshield, but no injuries were reported.
An hour earlier, on the Gilad route near the small Yitzhar junction, Arabs threw stones and damaged a bus and vehicles, no injuries reported.
Last week, the 10-year-old boy, Yehoshua Aaron Tuvia Simcha, was murdered in a shooting attack at the Al Hader junction in Gush Etzion. Three other people were injured moderately and lightly.
