Initial report: Five people were trapped in a fire that broke out this morning (Friday) in a residential building on Hadekalim Street in Pardes Hanna Karkur. Firefighting teams arrived at the scene and began extinguishing operations and searches to locate those trapped.

In a statement from the rescue teams, it was said that "at 10:45, a report was received at the 102 hotline of the Coastal District about a fire in a 4-story residential building on Hadekalim Street in Pardes Hanna Karkur." Numerous firefighting teams, under the command of Senior Officer Magdi Tiara, were dispatched to the scene. The teams arrived and identified a confirmed fire coming from the window on the 4th floor of the building. The teams are beginning firefighting operations and preventing the spread of the fire to the other apartments in the building, and they are starting searches to locate any trapped individuals.

It was later reported that 6 people were injured in the fire, including a man in his 60s who was seriously injured with signs of smoke inhalation and 5 others with minor injuries. MDA paramedics and medics provided initial medical treatment to the seriously injured person, and then evacuated him to Rambam Hospital while he was sedated and intubated. Four of the other injured were evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

MDA paramedics Ehud Amiton and Idan Almalaḥ recounted, "We were dispatched to a fire in an occupied building with suspicion of multiple casualties. We arrived at the scene with a large force of ambulances, intensive care units, motorcycles, and emergency vehicles." When we arrived at the scene, we noticed an apartment on fire and smoke enveloping the stairwell, preventing people from exiting. From the burning apartment, the victims were rescued with signs of smoke inhalation. They were taken out one by one and transferred to ambulances for treatment and evacuation. A man in his 60s, who was unconscious and suffered from severe smoke inhalation, was sedated and intubated on-site and evacuated by MDA's intensive care unit while receiving advanced medical treatment. The other lightly injured victims were evacuated to hospitals while conscious and suffering from smoke inhalation.
