After the severe blows that Israel dealt to Hezbollah and Hamas, and now also to Syria, Iran has decided to focus on the arena behind and through which to attack Israel, with the goal of incapacitating Israel for an extended period by targeting one of Israel's significant assets.
According to a report on the 'Maariv' website, Iran has decided to invest significantly in the Houthi terrorist organization from Yemen, which is the reason for the relatively high frequency of drone launches from the east towards Israel.
According to the report, the Houthis do not launch the drones just to "annoy" Israel, but under Iran's orders to cause real damage that will disrupt life in Israel for an extended period by targeting a strategic objective.
Among the targets marked by the Houthis are the ports of Ashdod and Haifa, the power stations of the Israel Electric Corporation, and the gas rigs off the coast of Israel, as an attack on them could cause immense damage to Israel.
