The IDF says that it is preparing plans for a major strike against the Iran-backed Houthi army, which has been stepping up drone and missile attacks on Israel, according to Kann News reporter Itay Blumenthal.
According to Blumenthal, now that Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, and other Iranian proxies have been defeated or significantly weakened and neutralized, the Houthis are determined to show their strength and commitment to Iran's crusade against Israel.
As such, the Houthis launched four long-range drones and two ballistic missiles at Israel in the last week alone. Most of these were intercepted, but at least one projectile struck a building in the town of Yavneh, narrowly failing to cause multiple casualties.
According to Blumenthal, the IDF not only sees this moment as the time to strike the Houthis but also believes that it would be right to involve the American-led naval coalition in the Red Sea, which is there to protect shipping against the Houthis.
The IDF says that the plans are ready, and all that they need to strike at the Houthis is the approval of the government.
