Following the tremendous success in Syria, the IDF is preparing for an attack on the Iranian nuclear program, security officials reported today. The reason: After the destruction of 85% of the Syrian Air Force, the airspace of Syria has become safe, which makes the flight path to Iran much simpler.
According to security sources, Israel is working to enlist the United States for the mission. This preparation comes in light of the collapse of the Assad regime and after the disintegration of the Shiite axis in the region, following the blows dealt to Hezbollah as part of the IDF's "Northern Shield" operation in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, amidst the tension in the Middle East and the prolonged anticipation of an Iranian attack on Israel, it is in Tehran that security measures at nuclear facilities are being intensified, out of fear of an Israeli attack.
According to a report by Kan News, a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that reached Reuters today revealed that in light of the fear of a possible attack, Iran and the agency have held discussions in recent days about increasing monitoring and security measures at the nuclear facilities in Fordow and Isfahan.
Senior Western officials estimate that Iran's step to increase security at these facilities may also indicate Tehran's concern about a possible attack on its sensitive facilities, in light of the growing threats in the region.
