In response to projectile fire from the area, the IDF Spokesperson in Arabic just released a map (Thursday) telling residents of the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City and its environs to evacuate to the north before the IDF enters to root out terrorists there.
The IDF is thus continuing its new policy, established months into the war, that any rocket attack is met not with a few air strikes but rather a major ground maneuver meant to root out terrorists and related infrastructure - including rockets and rocket launchers.
In addition to these pinpoint operations, the IDF continues to work to completely root out Hamas activity in the Jebaliya neighborhood of Gaza City and the town of Beit Lahia, as well as any other areas that might be necessary to target.
The one area where the IDF continues to be cautious in attacking is the central Gaza Strip, due to the army's firm belief that many of the hostages are being held there, and that IDF operations that come to close to where they are being held would lead to their being killed.
National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said a short time ago today that he believes that Prime Minister Netanyahu is on board with a hostage deal, which he believes can be concluded within the month. Israel, for its part, believes Hamas is now more "flexible" on terms for a deal, though Hamas has made no explicit statement to that effect.
